I love popcorn and I had become quite obsessed by Blooms nice and nutty flavour popcorn – but homemade popcorn is a much healthier and far less expensive alternative. Plain popcorn is low in calories, high in fibre and has a high level of polyphenols (antioxidants) which makes it a healthy alternative for snacking. So I decided to pick up some popcorn kernels and make some popcorn at home.

I love nuts, I could go as far as saying I’m nuts about nuts. I have them in my meals, desserts, cakes and snack on them throughout the day. It wasn’t until a couple of weeks ago that I actually weighed out the portion of Brazil nuts I was about to munch away on, to find out to my horror, that little snack was 20g fat! I knew nuts were high in fat – but had no idea that such a small portion would contain such a large amount. This lead me to take a good look into my nut intake.
I’m a very happy Vegan, today I visited a fantastic Vegan bakery selling all the Vegan necessities .. cookies, cakes and coffee 🙂 Its called Cookies and Scream and its located at Camden Lock Place, inside Dingwalls Gallery.
After a routine blood test, my Doctor tells me I’m folic acid deficient and she believes the cause to be dietary, because I’m Vegan?! Which is insane.
