There’s a new food stall that’s recently appeared on Leather Lane in London, known as Killer Tomato, and it’s great. I urge you to go and visit if you get the chance. All the food is vegetarian, and there are some really good vegan options too.
The stall is owned and run by Matt who is very friendly and happy to tell you about his food. He’s also keen to receive feedback from his customers.
The first (and second and third) time I visited, I had the drowned sandwich. Fat Gay Vegan recently said of this sandwich:
“Nobody in the UK does a vegan sandwich anywhere near this quality. I would eat it everyday.”
Just in case you think he’s exaggerating – he’s not. This sandwich is fantastic. The bread is nice and crusty, the refried beans, avocado and radish filling is lovely and the chilli de arbol sauce will blow your head off (which is a good thing!).

As of Wednesday this week, Matt started serving Tacos – two of which are vegan. The vegan fillings are aubergine with pickled pineapple, and potato with chipotle. Both are really nice, although I would have to say my favourite was the aubergine with pickled pineapple.
As I currently work on Leather Lane, I can see myself paying regular visits to this stall for the remainder of my time there. There are a number of good vegan lunch options on Leather Lane but I have got to say this is my favourite, but don’t take my word for it – check it out for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.
