Vegan friendly antiperspirant review

I recently wrote about my discovery of a vegan antiperspirant in my local Co Op. Since then I have had a chance to try it out so I thought I’d give it a little review. So, here it goes.

This product comes in two varieties; For men and sensitive (for women). I bought one of each for my Wife and I. I’ve since lost the receipt and can’t remember off the top of my head what the price was exactly but it was definitely under two pounds which is reasonable considering how much most vegan deodorants cost.

The first test is the fragrance. To my nostrils they both smelt rather pleasant. My wife particularly likes the scent of the male product. I can’t really account for what other people may find pleasant but they were pretty standard deodorant fragrances and were not overpowering.

The second and most important test was how well it performed and I must say I’m not disappointed. After a long day at work I found that I was relatively dry and didn’t smell too bad at all. It certainly performed as well as any major brand non-vegan antiperspirant has done for me in the past, if not better.

Sensitivity was also something to consider. We’ve both used products in the past that do nothing but make us itch like mad. This hasn’t happened for either of us so far so we’re confident that this will be a long term effect.

All in all this antiperspirant ticks all of the boxes. It’s affordable, easily available, doesn’t cause irritation and actually works, oh, and it’s vegan friendly. What more could you ask for?

That’s good to know – I’ll look out for it at my local co-op. Was it Co-Op brand?

I’ve been using Superdrug’s anti-perspirants which are also labelled vegan. The smells are a bit cheapy and overpowering but they work really well and have kept me dry on the few days this summer where it has actually been warm enough to crack a sweat!

      Hi Josh,

Yes it was Co op own brand and I’ve been very impressed with it to be honest. I haven’t been able to get hold of it lately though so I don’t know if they are continuing with it (I hope this isn’t the case).

I’ve had to revert to the Superdrug brand which is a drag since there isn’t one local to me ;-D but it has been OK.
